Resumen:
Traceability and transparency in the coffee supply chain are critical elements to increase the
competitiveness of Colombian coffee in national and international markets. In the case of small rural coffee growers, such as those of San Miguel, La Vega, Cauca, the lack of access to technology and infrastructure represents an important challenge, since it limits the processes of tracking and recording accurate information. This study focuses on the design and implementation of a traceability system based on NFCRFID technology for the supply chain of specialty coffees in this region.
The research included the detailed analysis of the local supply chain, the development of a digital traceability system and the validation of the prototype through a pilot test with six coffee growers. As a result, a mobile application integrated with NFC-RFID technology was created, which allows data to be recorded and consulted in real time throughout the chain. The results show that the system facilitates accurate and up-to-date traceability, improves transparency in the processes and guarantees the authenticity and quality of the product, benefiting both producers and consumers. This work highlights the potential of accessible and advanced technologies to optimize supply chain management and strengthen confidence in specialty coffee markets
